TacTicCube is a 3D twist on tic-tac-toe built to help kids practice math and strategic thinking — and we built it with your child's privacy as a starting principle, not an afterthought. Here's exactly what that means.
What we never ask for
TacTicCube never collects your child's real name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or home address. There's no sign-up form, no account creation with personal details — just a nickname your child picks themselves (not required to be their real name).
What we do collect, and why
- A nickname your child chooses, so matches can show "whose turn it is."
- Language, detected automatically from the device — never asked.
- Match history (wins, losses, moves played) — this is what lets us show progress, and what powers optional reporting to a parent or teacher.
- A randomly-generated account ID (not tied to any personal info) so progress syncs across your child's own devices.
That's the whole list. No ad-tracking profiles, no data sold to anyone.
Purchases, links, and invites are gated
TacTicCube offers optional Pro and SuperPro upgrades, but every purchase goes through Apple's own App Store purchase system — meaning your existing Apple parental controls (Ask to Buy, Face ID/Touch ID confirmation) apply automatically. On top of that, before starting a purchase, opening any link outside the App, or sending a friend invite, TacTicCube shows a quick parental gate — a simple math problem your child would need to type the answer to, easy for an adult and deliberately awkward for a young child to pass by guessing.
If your child's teacher uses TacTicCube in class
TacTicCube supports classroom use: a teacher sets up a classroom and gets a join code to share with their students. A student enters that code once to join, and from then on, their match progress is visible to that teacher — only for classroom/educational purposes, never for advertising, and never shared any further. When a teacher sets this up, they confirm they have the authorization they need from their school (and, where applicable, from parents) to use the App this way. If you'd rather just see your own child's progress yourself, you can do that directly in the App without any classroom setup at all.
Ads, if you're on the free tier
On iOS and iPadOS, the free version of TacTicCube shows ads through SuperAwesome (Kids Web Services), an ad network built specifically for children's apps — no behavioral targeting, no tracking your child across other apps or websites. The Windows version doesn't show ads at all. Purchasing Pro removes ads entirely.
The referral system and Camp Gratitude
TacTicCube has a built-in referral system that rewards players for inviting friends. It runs entirely on anonymous, encrypted codes — never on your child's name or any personal information. One level of every referral reward always goes to Camp Gratitude, a nonprofit supporting veterans and military families, no matter what. The other levels are paid out to referring players, and a player can also choose to donate their own share to Camp Gratitude on top of that. No personal data about your child is ever part of any of this — just the reward amount itself.
