MoonLight Industries, LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates TacTicCube, a 3D tic-tac-toe puzzle game for iOS, iPadOS, and Windows (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and the special protections in place for children, since TacTicCube is listed in Apple's Kids Category and designed for young players.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@tacticcubegame.com.
1. Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
TacTicCube is built on a simple principle: we don't need your child's personal information to let them play and learn. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and designed the App from the ground up to collect as little as possible.
2. Information We Collect
What we DO NOT collect
TacTicCube never asks for, and does not collect:
- Real name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Photos, voice, or any biometric data
What we DO collect
- Nickname: a display name the player chooses themselves the first time they start a match. This is not required to be a real name, and can be changed anytime in Settings.
- Language: detected automatically from the device's system settings. Never collected by asking the player directly.
- Country: optional, only set if the player deliberately chooses one in Settings.
- Gameplay data: match results, win/loss record, and moves played, used to run the game itself and to power the teacher/parent progress-reporting feature described below.
- A device-generated account identifier: an encrypted, randomly-generated ID (not tied to any personal information) used to sync a player's progress across devices and to support the in-house referral system.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information above only to:
- Run the core game (matches, scoring, match history)
- Sync a player's own progress between their own devices
- Power optional progress reporting to a parent or teacher
- Operate the in-house referral/rewards system (see Section 5)
- Provide customer support if a player or parent contacts us
We do not use any information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell information to anyone.
4. Teacher and Parent Progress Reporting
TacTicCube supports classroom use. A teacher creates a classroom and receives a join code, which they share with their students. A student enters that code once to join; from that point on, their match results and progress are visible to that teacher for educational purposes only.
When a teacher creates a classroom, they confirm that they have the necessary authorization from their school and/or their students' parents to use TacTicCube for this purpose — consistent with COPPA's provision allowing a school or teacher acting with school authorization to consent on behalf of parents for tools used strictly for school purposes. We use any data shared this way only for progress tracking within that classroom — never for advertising or any other commercial purpose, and never shared beyond that teacher.
A parent who wants to see their own child's progress outside of a classroom setting can do so directly within the App, without any additional sharing step.
5. Our Referral System
TacTicCube has an in-house referral system that rewards players for inviting others. It works entirely through encrypted, randomly-generated identifiers — never names, emails, or other personal information. One level of the referral chain is always donated to Camp Gratitude, a nonprofit supporting veterans and military families; other levels are only paid to referring players who hold an active Pro subscription, and a player may also choose to voluntarily donate their own earned share to Camp Gratitude. No child's personal information is ever shared with Camp Gratitude or anyone else as part of this system — only anonymized reward calculations.
6. Advertising
On iOS and iPadOS, the free tier shows ads served through SuperAwesome (Kids Web Services), an ad network built specifically for children's apps. These ads are contextual only — never based on behavioral tracking, interest profiles, or cross-app/cross-site tracking. The Windows version of TacTicCube does not show ads at all. Purchasing Pro removes all ads.
7. In-App Purchases and Parental Gates
TacTicCube offers optional Pro and SuperPro purchases — one-time, not recurring — handled entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit) — we never directly process payment information ourselves. Apple's own purchase-protection features (such as Ask to Buy and Face ID/Touch ID confirmation) apply to any purchase made in the App.
In addition, before starting a purchase, following a link outside the App, or sending a friend/referral invite, TacTicCube shows a parental gate: a simple math problem requiring a typed answer, deliberately designed to be easy for an adult and difficult for a young child to pass by guessing.
8. Where Information Is Stored
Gameplay and account data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider, accessed only over encrypted connections. We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
9. Your Rights as a Parent
You can, at any time:
- Review the information associated with your child's account
- Request correction of that information
- Request deletion of your child's account and all associated data
- Refuse further collection of your child's information
To exercise any of these rights, email support@tacticcubegame.com from the email address associated with your request, and we will respond promptly. You can also submit a deletion request directly through our Delete My Child's Data form.
10. International Players
TacTicCube is available worldwide, including in regions with their own children's privacy laws (such as the EU's GDPR-K). We apply the protections in this policy to all players regardless of location.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify players/parents within the App.
